We are currently on the search for a Production Manager to lead our Mixing Room and Chocolate/ Semi’s plant on Day Shift– where we produce our much- loved products. The key focus of this role is to ensure that all production targets and manufacturing plans are achieved, within timeframe and allocated resources. Alongside the daily running of production and team leadership, this role will have exposure to a range of projects and continuous improvement initiatives - we're looking for someone who really thrives on a challenge, proactively seeks new opportunities and who is all about thinking outside the box!
You will be well supported under the direction of the Operations Manager and Manufacturing Manager. We are after an experienced strong people & technical leader, who is resilient and enjoys being challenged!

What you’ll be responsible for:
- Managing, leading, and coordinating the Mixing Room and Chocolate/Semis plant across the day shift, and ensuring all production targets & manufacturing plans are achieved while optimizing labour and minimizing waste.
- Ensuring that appropriate standard operating procedures (SOP's) are in place and adhered to by all staff (identify skill gaps and train operators to SOPs)
- Maintaining shift staffing levels and labour within budget & demand.
- Constantly find opportunity to forward plan to ensure daily weekly plans are met for the Mixing Room.
- Managing, inspiring, engaging and developing a team of approx.15 employees, including recruitment, performance management, training plans and driving employee engagement
- Championing Health & Safety and Food Safety cultures and ensuring safe working practices are maintained.
- Ensuring product quality standards are always met.
- Leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Ideally, proven experience within a FMCG manufacturing environment (3-4 years’ experience in a mixing/processing environment)
- You’ll have a tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Engineering, Food Technology, or another relevant field. (Experienced Baker/ or qualification in Baking)
- Solution and target focused.
- Leadership skills and some experience with managing a team, you will be a natural influencer.
- Ability to analyze production data to identify trends and future improvements.
- Positivity and a solutions-focused approach– nothing is ever a problem!
- Exposure with leading and small – medium projects, and passionate about continuous improvement
- A team player with excellent communication skills

- Resilience and the confidence to make decisions under pressure.
- You will be a self-starter, motivated and able to positively motivate others.
